Fernandez Ranch Hike (4 miles)

Hi Sweeps. Let's help Randy warm up for his Hawaii trip with a short but fun 4 mile (~600ft elevation gain) hike at Fernandez Ranch. The hike includes a couple of steepish hills, which we will take on slowly. This well-maintained, preserved land, between Martinez and Hercules/Pinole Valley, is gorgeous with sweeping views of the Bay Area and surrounding hills. The historic 700+ acre property of Bernardo and Carlotta Fernandez is what remains of their 7000-acre ranch. It was preserved by John Muir Land Trust and opened to the public in 2010. Parking is free and there are restrooms near the parking area. Friendly dogs are welcome on leash.

We will hike at an average to slower pace (25-30 mins per mile) so we can enjoy the experience while we get the heart pumping. Please update your RSVP if you cannot attend, so as many people as possible can enjoy this hike.
