• There is something "scientific" in art, e.g., something technical
• Art has to do with indefinite concepts or ideas
• The artist should know the rules so she can be free to play according to them, or efen to create her own game in contrast to them.
• But to render sensible the supersensible, the artist must translate by analogy the indeterminate into something more determinate
• Art is not a science, but there is still something salutory in its teaching
• During Kant's time, Enlightenment was the idea of the artist, civilizing humanity from the state of nature.
• Art will thus change as people become more enlightened.
