8D7N Northern Hokkaido Wild Hiking July 2025

The Travelling Backpack invites you to join us on an exciting wild hiking to the extreme remote northern island of Hokkaido ! The mountains of Hokkaido are well known for its harsh winter and cold weather with hiking season that is not only short but barely available in the short months of July to early September while most of the time snow skiing activities prevail. All the more it is so precious to hikers who aspire to walk the beautiful magical and almost whimsical routes to the summits of these amazing & magnificent mountains.
Hokkaido is a pristine island that has many majestic and beautiful mountains that rarely sees many hikers especially in the far North. Those visiting hikers are mainly Japanese with the occasional international hikers.
Let's take up this awesome hiking odyssey together as we attempt to hike the highest mountain, the most active volcanic mountain & the most remote northern mountain on a far north island off Hokkaido.
