What we’re about
Welcome to The Fellowship of the Western Mysteries meetup group (formerly The Wiccan Fellowship)! Our community is dedicated to providing a supportive space for those interested in Wicca, Paganism, The Western Mysteries, Western Esoteric Traditions, and anything even closely related. Whether you are new to The Craft, have been practicing for years, or know nothing at all and are merely curious, all are welcome to join us for discussions, rituals, workshops, and more. Let's come together to share our experiences, learn from each other, and deepen our spiritual connection with the earth and spiritual energies. Join us in exploring the richness and diversity of Wiccan and related traditions!

The Wicca Study Group - Vienna 2026
Vienna, Goethedenkmal, Vienna, ATA six-month course in the basic theory and practice of the Craft, focusing on a monthly ritual/magical experience that will give you a taste of what it is to practice Wicca.
Have you heard about Wicca and wondered if it might be something for you? Have you always been curious about magic, witches and wizards, Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings and such things and wanted to give it all, somehow, a try? Have you been practicing the Craft on your own or with a group in some form and wanted to get to know some experienced, initiated Wiccans? Are are you simply interested in spirituality, perhaps have done some yoga and meditation, and wanted to give a western path a try?
Join us for The Wicca Study Group and get a real experience of Wicca in a relaxed, fun, and friendly environment. We'll work with Wiccan philosophy and practice (focusing on practice), ritual, and magic. We'll connect with natural inner (and outer) sources of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom, and we'll begin to learn to attune ourselves with the power of nature, both our own nature and the nature of trees and mountains and lakes and streams and the seasons and all the rest...
As a Mystery tradition, Wicca cannot promise ultimate answers or unshakeable, immutable truth. Wicca has no Bible, no dogma, no Pope. It is a path not of belief but of practice and personal experience, not of ultimate answers, but of ever-renewing, fascinating questions. Not the peace of a Sunday afternoon, but an ever-deepening life of spiritual adventure.
And it's fun! Wicca is a balanced path of both reverence and mirth. We hope you'll join us for what promises to be a fantastic spring of learning the Craft!
The Wicca Study Group will be held in English.
The (two) instructors are initiated, active Wiccans (British Traditional Wicca) with more than thirty years combined experience.
NOTE: The Wicca Study Group is not initiatory training, nor is it required for initiatory training, nor is it the only pathway to obtaining initiatory training. It also does not guarantee access to initiatory training. It is simply a chance to get some experience of Wicca to find out if it might be with your thing, and/or to learn some things you can start practicing on your own. AND it is often an initial step for people who want to practice Wicca in a satisfying way on their own, or for people who, down the road, are seeking initiation.
The Wicca Study Group will Meet Once a Month for Six Months, will start at 20:00 and will run approximately 2-3 hours.
You need to register before the beginning of the first session to take part. No joining in the middle as the lessons build on each other. We run the Study Group every year, so they'll always be another chance.
The Event will be held in Vienna, Austria. In Person (not online). The exact location ( in Vienna) will be shared with participants after they have registered.
The dates this time are:
- January 16- 20:00- 23:00
- February 13- 20:00- 23:00
- March 27th 20:00- 23:00
- April 24th 20:00- 23:00
- May 29th 20:00- 23:00
- June 19th 20:00- 23:00
The registration purchased here is for all six sessions. There will be no additional charges, but for some sessions you might need to bring some materials to be used in the sessions. "Eye of Newt, Wing of Bat" and so on... ;-) Everything will be easily obtainable in Vienna, and we try to keep the costs low. None of it is something you need to (or even can) buy from us.
Wicca is an eclectic, diverse tradition with many, many strands. The Wicca Study Group is based, loosely, on the vision of Wicca expressed in the book Wicca: A comprehensive guide to the Old Religion in the modern world by Vivianne Crowley. While not strictly required, we highly recommend buying a copy of the book to read through alongside the course- https://amzn.eu/d/cLycdTW Also If you're not sure about joining the course, reading that book would also be a fantastic way to get a sense of if our style of Wicca might be something for you.
Please, if you have the means, do buy the book rather then download it for free. We get nothing from the purchase of the book, but know the author and as such would like to promote the karmic virtue of supporting writers of good books! :-)
Registration includes access to an online classroom where materials will be uploaded and the class can communicate with each other and with the instructors for the duration of the class as you attempt to put into practice what you are learning. Sessions will be (to the extent possible given what we are doing) recorded (audio only) and shared in the online classroom (along with any documents used) so you can review material, or in case you are unable to attend a session.
NOTE: Clicking RSVP does not register you for the event- it's just a friendly "I want/intend to come". To come you have to apply, register, and buy a ticket below:
