My other discussion group discussed this topic several times. Closer to our meeting date on January 11th, I will update that intro here and add some more current readings. More up to date readings are sorely needed. Obviously, because of the current presidential administration and the MAGA philosophy. But also because whether liberals should try to "reclaim" patriotism from conservatives or at least do a better job of contesting the idea. Also, many, many younger Americans do not express much patriotism - perhaps because they associate it only with all of the aggressive nationalism they have seen growing up.

My other group spent some time on generational differences in support for patriotism and nationalism, too.
