GOODNIGHT SWEET PRINCE
Adapted by Liesel Badorrek, Raj Labade & Jack Twelvetree from William Shakespeare’s Hamlet
Directed by Liesel Badorrek
Confucius said: Before you embark upon a journey of revenge, dig two graves.
A room that once held art is in ruins. Inside it, a boy is being watched, tested, pushed toward something he doesn’t fully understand. He trusts no one. Not even himself.
Goodnight Sweet Prince distills Shakespeare’s Hamlet into an intense reflection. A mind caught in cycles of memory, remorse, and brutality, hovering at the brink of breaking point.
Each night actors Raj Labade and Jack Twelvetree swap parts - Hamlet, Horatio, the rest - identity fractures, reforms, repeats through each unique performance. This is not a faithful retelling. It’s time distorted. A study of inherited violence. A sense of being watched, and the quiet damage done when revenge is dressed up as honour.
