The Backgammon Club of New Jersey (REQUIRING VACCINATIONS) has reinvigorated the enjoyment and social aspect of the game of Backgammon. All levels of skill are welcome including anyone who wants to learn how to play, and available to all ages. We provide lessons for beginners and intermediate players. We challenge the advanced players, and enjoy Tournament Play. We boast having USBGF Tournament Winners amongst our ranks. New for 2024 are Challenging BG Solutions Seminars for players who want to improve their skills.

Update June, 2024:
It is with great pleasure that we continue to attract and increase this select group of backgammon players. It has been very difficult these past years coping with the Covid virus. In order to proceed safely, it was essential that our members' health, safety, and welfare were protected as much as possible when we meet. Our members have been concerned about this and deserve this ongoing assurance. Non-fully vaccinated members and/or guests are not permitted to attend meetups.
1. Future and present members who would like to attend meet-ups are required to provide copies of documentation of being fully vaccinated for your age group, in advance of the next meet-up date you'd like to attend. You will need to email or mail (see below) a copy of your vaccination records for me to keep on file. This is for everyone's safety. You will then gain admittance to our meet-ups. Membership is for individuals only. Spouses, etc. need to apply individually.
2. You will need to be fully vaccinated per your age.: 1st dose, 2nd dose, and 2 boosters. 2nd booster is required for ages 50+ and the 5th shot bivalent booster. And any vaccine recommended in the future. Guests are welcome only with proof of vaccinations at the door. Please include your name, address, cell ph., email address, and copy of vaccination records. Please list spouses individually.
3. Our venue is Capital Craft, 171 US Highway Rt 22 East, Green Brook, NJ, 08812. 5:30 pm Dinner, 6-9 pm Game Play. Eating at playing tables is prohibited. The maitre d' will direct you to our Banquet area. Our arrangement with the venue is our participants purchase an entree and a beverage.
4. Your RSVP is mandatory in order to secure the room at the venue. If we don't meet a minimum attendance quantity the meet-up will be cancelled. Please Rsvp by the date requested.
5. Walk-ins or guests without proof of vaccination will be turned away.
6. Please arrive to our meet-up on time. If you arrive late during a Tournament or Seminar you may miss the opportunity to participate.
7. New for 2024:
A. To join our Club is still free. We expect donations to help defray the cost of our membership in Meetup. Suggested minimum donation is $25.00/year. My expectation is that "regulars" will recognize the value of 24 play dates for $25.00. Thank you in advance.
B. We have introduced a second meetup per month to satisfy those members who are not able to attend monday nights. Diehards like me will enjoy bg live twice a month! Our schedule is the 1st Monday of the month, and the 3rd Thursday of the month, to be adjusted for holidays.
C. We are also introducing "Challenging BG Solutions Seminars" to keep our players on their toes. These BG problems won't be your typical 6-5 opening roll. Good Luck!
D. We want social enthusiasts, beginners, and experienced players who want to enjoy a safe, vaccinated environment.
We have entered a new and challenging era. I look forward to playing my backgammon friends!
