The software development industry's incentive to create cheap products is clear! This encourages programmers to learn concepts superficially and even stop pursuing knowledge at some point. This creates a situation where there are many more low-skilled programmers in the workforce. It's a vicious circle.
The result is unreliable software for users and unreliable deadlines for product owners.
At some point, it becomes a situation where every time you build something, you actually break 10 other things.
