The Conscious Business Network is about bringing together smaller business owners who want to grow themselves and their businesses, and know that being part of a collaborative community is the most powerful way to do that.
This network is not only about widening connections and creating collaborations through which we can build our businesses, but it is also about creating a safety net of supportive peers with whom we can grow ourselves to be stronger, more resourceful business leaders.
If the way you do business matters to you, if the way you show up in the world is important to you and if you feel really strongly that you want to make a deeper impact on the world, small or large, then we'd love you to join us. Your stage of business is less important than your ethos, passion and drive.
We do not believe in competition and welcome you to the group no matter what you do, as long as your values are aligned with the group. Because of its history the group is currently all women, but we are now welcoming men too.
There is no membership fee. For this reason we request you pay the £15 meeting fee a week in advance if you know you are definitely joining us. This allows us to confirm numbers and arrangements with the venue. A few last minute drop ins are fine but if you do know you are coming, please do pay in advance to help us with planning. Your fee includes a non-alcoholic drink of your choice at the meeting.
Where & When Do We Meet?
OFFLINE:
We meet at the Anthologist at 58 Gresham Street for monthly friendly networking and business support, plus an optional relationship building lunch afterwards.
Meetings are from 10.30am until 12.30pm on a Friday (usually the 3rd Friday of the month but it can vary).
ONLINE:
We come together in our Facebook group The Conscious Business Network & Community (http://www.facebook.com/groups/thecbn), and will soon be organising online networking events you are going to love!! Yes, you can join in on those from anywhere int he world.
Why This Group Now?
You know the world is changing; more and more of us are now in business either working from a home office or from small premises. It's become less about the giants in industry and more about the courageous, innovative individuals who have a vision, and inspire others to follow it. These are the people making a deeper impact on the values our society lives by. Smaller business owners are at the forefront of these changes in our world and we know that when we get together we can turn our ripples into waves and create a new business normal, where business is about not only making money but also about adding value, fulfilling our purpose, making a difference and influencing our world's standards for the better.
The History of This Group
It was originally formed as Winning Women Central London (and then The Spiritual Business Hub) by Cathy Ballard who founded it about six years ago. Cathy passed it on to Rosemary Cunningham where it become the London Business's Women's Network and since June 2018 I, Helen Elizabeth Evans, evolved the group into The Conscious Business Network. Cathy, Rosemary and I are all good friends with similar values and will continue the conscious, caring ethos of the group.
About Us
Following a corporate career, I (Helen) have been running my own businesses from home since 1996, initially from a cramped corner in our living room and now I have my own separate office! I understand the challenges of not only growing a small business from a practical perspective, but also what it takes to find the right way to do it, for you. We're all unique, with unique talents, skills, motivations and zones of no-genius!
I help conscious business owners create thriving businesses doing things their own way. I'm also known as the UK's No. 1 Scientific Hand & Fingerprint Analyst (Yes, ask me about this -the most accurate and only objective profiling tool I've ever encountered!). I've appeared on ITV, Channel 4 & 5, and I've have been quoted in The Daily Mail and various other publications over the years.
Rosemary has been running her own business since 1993 and knows too well all the pitfalls that can trip us up! She worked from her spare bedroom for many years. She runs Winning Women Essex with groups in Southend and Chelmsford.
