🗿 Some monsters are made, not born. And when the face in the mirror is no longer your own, the nightmare has just begun…

👋 What's up, guys! Looks like DC is taking horror seriously for a change, as this won't be your stereotypical superhero flick. The buzz around this one is that it will lean heavily into body dysmorphia, identity and psychological unease, pushing the DC universe in a much darker direction.

This body horror setup is directed by James Watkins and based on the eponymous DC Comics character. The story follows an up-and-coming actor whose face is disfigured by a gangster. As a last resort, he turns to a scientist who transforms his body into clay, with horrifying consequences.

For now, at least, Clayface stands as a standalone genre piece within the DC Universe, blending horror and tragedy rather than traditional superhero spectacle. But who knows what the future holds?

The Meetup: We'll be meeting for drinks at 8:00 pm at the Victory House Wine Bar before heading to VUE Cinema West End for the 9:00 pm screening. I'll be seated in A13 (Screen 2) if you'd like to sit nearby.

After the film, we'll regroup in the foyer at approximately 11:15 pm to share our thoughts and review the film for Letterboxd. You'll also find the full details, booking link and venue addresses below to help you find your way.
