The Improv Collaborative

Imagine watching a movie after it’s already begun. For the first few minutes you try to figure out who the characters are and what’s going on. You’re curious to see what will happen next. Tonight, four couples will perform four distinct stories. The setting is chosen by the audience, and the characters and plot are entirely improvised. The scenes can range from dramatic to intimate, with potential for humor, making the experience unpredictable and engaging.

Improv is like a box of chocolates – you never know what you’re going to get! Improv is a fantastic way to step outside your comfort zone and build confidence. Our introductory class is perfect for beginners and covers the two main styles of improv: short-form games (like those in "Whose Line is it Anyway?") and long-form scene work.

We focus on providing you with fundamental improv tools in a supportive and playful environment. Students often find they form strong connections with their classmates as they learn and grow together. While improv can be funny, our main goal is to encourage exploration and build confidence in navigating the unexpected. You don't need to be a natural comedian to participate – just bring your sense of adventure!
