Welcome to 歡喜講閩南話 (huann hí kóng bân lâm uē), where you can learn Minnan-hua (aka Hokkien in Singapore) together with us.

Similar to many other Southern Chinese Languages, Minnan-hua retains a splendid array of linguistic features of Old and Middle Chinese, embodying long-standing traditions and a rich cultural heritage. Its pronunciations are elegant and refined, while its vocabulary is lively and vivid, making conversations delightfully entertaining.

Whether you are a complete beginner or one who aims to improve their proficiency in the language, you are welcome to join us on this journey of linguistic exploration.

Nearest MRT station: Promenade @ Downtown (blue) Line or Circle (yellow) Line

LOCATING US INSIDE THE FOOD COURT
We are seated at the far end of the food court where the wall is, away from the stalls, or near that area. Look for groups that look like they are studying rather than merely eating. You can drop the Event Host a message if you are lost.

NO COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES
We welcome anyone who is keen to learn a language or help others learn the language. However, this is NOT the platform for individuals who have other intentions, such as recruiting members for their business or organization or selling products or services. We will not hesitate to ask such individuals to stop attending our meetups.
