What we're about

Established in 2009 using Facebook as the platform, we have players from all around the world. We use good quality feather shuttlecocks. We limit the number of players for each session to avoid overcrowding. We are an inclusive club, so we welcome players of all levels. Our aim is to provide a platform for everyone, who shares the passion for badminton. So everyone can now enjoy badminton...

• If you are a fresh player or beginner, we can teach and coach you;
• If you've played for a few years already but still don't feel confident, we can help you improve and get to the next level;
• If you are a highly skilful, advanced player, we can certainly challenge you in competitive games.

Please visit and subscribe our YouTube channel for FREE videos on badminton training, tips, drills and tournaments. https://bit.ly/2Wt8oN7

There are dedicated sessions on Tuesday and Saturday for intermediate/advance players only (league or county players). Players may be asked to play in separate courts according to their playing level. Open sessions are generally mixed, depending on the attendees.

Important: Beginners or improvers MUST attend our training sessions first before joining the normal games-only sessions, so that we can get them started to play with others safely.

Weekly club sessions are:

  1. Mondays, 8-10pm (2 hours), Bacon's College, 2 courts,
  2. Tuesdays, 7.30-9.30pm (2 hours), St Mary Magdalene School, North Greenwich, 4 courts,
  3. Thursdays, 8-10pm (2 hours), Workhouse Poplar, 1 court - for private coaching only,
  4. Fridays, 7.30-9.30pm (2 hours), St Mary Magdalene School, North Greenwich, 4 courts,
  5. Saturdays, 11am-1pm (2 hours), St Mary Magdalene School, North Greenwich, 3 courts plus 1 court for private coaching only,
  6. Saturdays, 1-3pm (2 hours), St Mary Magdalene School, North Greenwich, 4 courts,
  7. Sundays, 11am-1pm, George Green’s School, 3 courts.

Please check Meetup events for the exact upcoming sessions, as there may be some changes to club sessions listed above.

Please bring your own racket. If required, racket is available for hire at a small fee of £3. Please contact Brian Ng if you need one.

The club provides training and coaching sessions to players looking to learn the right techniques or improve their game play. Players get tailored training and attention in a small group.

Private coaching (1-to-1, 2-to-1 or 3-to-1) (singles or doubles) or competition-focus training can be arranged directly with Brian Ng.
Junior badminton lessons are available on Sundays during school term. For more information on junior badminton, please go to LCWBC Junior Badminton Facebook Group or email: lcwbcjuniors@gmail.com

Please contact Brian Ng to discuss your coaching requirement. We have a pool of excellent coaches.

We have received great feedback on our coaching sessions. To see what people have said (so far) about our coaching and training sessions, go to https://bit.ly/2WQ76L6

Session fees: £8 per person for a 2-hour session. £20 per person for a group coaching/training session. Payment processing fee charged by Meetup/PayPal will be added to our session fees.

Important: We operate on a booking policy to make it fair for others who wants to play. There is no waiting list.

All bookings are paid in advance. There is no waiting list. All bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable, unless if we are unable to run a session where you will be offered a replacement session. If you cannot attend anymore after making your booking, please update your RSVP to remove your place by clicking 'Edit RSVP' and changing RSVP to 'Not going' so that your place can be released to someone else. If you do not withdraw in good time, then your booking is a 'no-show' and you will be banned.

Please read our policies:
http://londonbadminton.weebly.com/policy.html

We understand that things may change (due to injury, illness or transport issues) but please book only when you are certain. If players want to book well in advance to secure their places, then they have to bear the risk of their own changes and that they have to withdraw without refund.

LCWBC offers racket restringing service and sales of rackets and shuttlecocks. Please contact Brian Ng for more information. If you prefer online shopping, check out our partner BadmintonBay.com who offers competitively priced badminton products. Use 'LCWBC' discount code for an extra 5% discount on everything.

There is a social side to our club, with regular social gathering and fun activities organised for members. We also have our own badminton tournament every year. Go to www.londonbadminton.weebly.com or search us on Facebook.

Please stretch and warm up properly before and after our session to prevent injury. We are a social group, not insured and are not liable for any injury or loss that you may suffer as a result of your participation at any of our sessions (games sessions and training/coaching sessions).

There is a standard Meetup setting where your profile may show ‘unpaid’ status even though you have paid. If so, please ignore this standard setting. The main point is as long as you have paid your session fee, that’s fine.

We may occasionally take videos or images during the sessions. By joining our Meetup group and events, you grant LCWBC permission to take videos, images or audios and to use them in any media including, without limitation, in printed publications, presentations, promotional material or online, in their original format or edited or altered in any way.
