Hey all,
Sorry about the early start time on this one, but the parking lot at the trailhead can fill up quite early so it's good to get there early (I feel like I've gotten the last spot more than once). I do encourage carpooling from the Sacramento area for just that reason, but if you're coming in from out of the area not a worry.
If you need to contact me my cellphone at 916-343-3408.
This is going to be a SLOW paced hike. If you're going to be in a rush please do not join on this hike. We're (hopefully) at the peak of the wildflower season right now or just after, so we'll do plenty of stopping to observe and photograph them. This is a well know area for flowers.
I did a hike on this trail to a different spot a few years ago (to Showers Lake) and between 4 of us we spotted 89 different types flowers. Once again, slow paced.
There's really no good information out there on hiking to this spot, and no designated trail. But it's right off of the Tahoe Rim Trail and should be easy to find (I'm sure there are many undesignated spur trails that get there). And I know the area well enough to not worry about getting lost!
