Monday mobbing

Hi Lovely people, it's nearly the end ofthe month (yay!) so why not join us for a wander around Central London, along one of our regular routes? On the way we'll be meeting and chatting to our street friends, giving out socks, blankets and other stuff while getting to know any newcomers, both mobbing and on the street. Please state two preferred areas when you select 'I'm going' in case we don't have enough people to cover your first choice. After an hour or so we'll retire to a local pub for a drink and a chat.

The Sock Mob will start at 7pm - the areas we'd like to cover (in order of which ones will be covered first if there are fewer signed up) are:

Strand - meet by McDonald's just along from Charing Cross tube on the Strand

Victoria - meet outside the large WHSmiths opposite the flower stall in the centre of the station concourse

Waterloo - meet outside McDonald's on the lowest level of the station concourse i.e. the Waterloo Road level

Old Street - Meet by the bottom of exit 2 in front of the bank of phones

Feel free to suggest other areas as well as those listed!

A couple of FAQs:

Do I need to bring anything with me?
An open mind & a willingness to chat to the homeless people we meet along the way is all that's required; however, items such as food, books, toiletries and warm clothing are always appreciated. If you bring food, please avoid 'hard' foods, like apples, as many of our street friends have dental problems that mean they can only manage softer items.

Can I choose which area I go to?
Definitely - please mention, when you select 'I'm going' which two areas you'd prefer to go to in case we don't have enough people to cover your first choice.

I've never done this before...
No worries: mention in the comment box that appears when you select 'I'm going' that you're new to The Sock mob. However, there is always an experienced walk leader/organiser on each route, along with regular mobbers, so there will always be someone who knows the people and the route! New mobbers are welcome to email any of the organisers with any questions or you can call me on 07957 725 905 with any questions you may have.
