The holidays are often described as a season of love, generosity, connection and joy.
And they can be.
But they can also be a season of expectations, complicated family dynamics, over-scheduled calendars, financial pressure, old traditions, grief, loneliness, people-pleasing, difficult conversations and the occasional relative who somehow discovers the one topic everyone agreed not to discuss. ❤️
So before the holiday season fully begins, we’d love to gather together as a community around a question we believe is worth exploring:
## How can we be love in action through the holiday season without losing ourselves in the process?
This will be the focus of this month's gathering - an open community conversation designed to help us explore questions that come with being human, and discover how we can bring more love into the way we live daily.
For our November gathering, we’ll explore the difference between being loving and abandoning ourselves in the name of love.
We’ll talk about what happens when generosity becomes obligation.
- When keeping the peace costs us our own peace.
- When traditions no longer fit but we’re afraid to change them.
- When saying yes to everyone else means repeatedly saying no to ourselves.
- When boundaries feel unloving.
- When family dynamics pull us back into versions of ourselves we thought we’d outgrown.
- And when our desire to create the “perfect” holiday keeps us from actually experiencing the people and moments right in front of us.
Together, we’ll explore how being love in action includes ourselves, too
## Our Time Together
ARRIVE & CONNECT
We’ll begin with a few unhurried minutes to arrive, find a seat, breathe, say hello and meet some of the people sharing the room with us.
There's nothing you need to prepare and no expectation that you immediately become the most social person in Scottsdale.
Just arrive. We’ll take it from there.
DISCUSS
We’ll gather for a round-table conversation around our November question:
How do we remain love in action without losing ourselves?
We’ll explore our own experiences with the holidays and talk openly about boundaries, expectations, family relationships, giving, receiving, overwhelm, traditions, self-care and what healthy love can actually look like.
We’ll also share practical tools that have helped us and invite members of the community to share wisdom from their own experiences.
You're welcome to speak and you're equally welcome to listen.
Participation is always an invitation, never an obligation.
This isn’t about finding one “right” answer.
It’s about creating a space where everyone feels safe and we can learn from one another.
SET INTENTION
Insight becomes meaningful when it begins changing how we live.
Before leaving our conversation, we’ll each consider:
What does love ask of me this holiday season, and how can I include myself in that love?
You’ll choose one intention to carry into the month ahead.
The intention is simply to leave knowing what your next expression of love might be.
MEDITATE
We’ll then move from thinking about our intention to mentally experiencing it.
Through a guided meditation, we’ll visualize ourselves entering the holiday season grounded, connected and aware.
We’ll imagine the situations that may challenge us and practice responding differently.
- We’ll feel ourselves honoring boundaries without closing our hearts.
- Giving without depletion.
- Receiving without guilt.
- Choosing presence over perfection.
- And allowing love to include the person looking back at us in the mirror.
Think of it as a gentle rehearsal for the month ahead, giving the mind, body and heart an opportunity to experience our intention before life asks us to practice it.
SOCIALIZE & SNACK
And then…we eat. ❤️
We’ll provide healthy snacks and leave time after the gathering simply to be together in community.
- No facilitated questions.
- No agenda.
- No spiritual homework.
Just people meeting people.
Because one of the things we hope to create through these gatherings is more than a monthly event.
Our goal is to create:
- A place where we feel safe to discuss the challenges and successes we experience in life.
- Where friendships form.
- Where different beliefs can sit comfortably beside one another as we learn from each other.
- Where someone can arrive alone without feeling alone.
- And where we slowly learn what it means to practice love, not only as an idea, but as something we live together.
## Who Is This For?
You! Really.
You don’t need to change your beliefs to belong here.
At Suivera, our common ground isn’t a shared theology.
It’s our willingness to explore what becomes possible when we choose love.
- If you’re looking for deeper conversation…
- If you’re craving meaningful community…
- If you’re curious about spirituality but uncomfortable with dogma…
- If you already have a spiritual or religious home and simply want another place to explore…
- Or if the holidays tend to leave you wondering how something called “the most wonderful time of the year” somehow requires quite this much emotional stamina…
Come join us.
- Bring your experiences.
- Bring your wisdom.
- Bring your questions.
- Bring your uncertainty.
- Bring your whole wonderfully human self.
## Questions?
Let’s explore the answer together. Feel free to reach out to us at info@suivera.org and we'll answer.
