What we’re about

Welcome digital nomads far and wide! This is a group for everyone who identifies as a digital nomad or they have lived and worked in different countries around the world either in tech or any field for that matter.

We are the Universal Philosophical Community - The White Tower *Οικουμενική Φιλοσοφική Κοινότητα Ο Λευκός Πύργος*!

What Do We Do?

  • This group is here for those interested in practical philosophy, personal growth and professional development. Our mission is to host interesting, inclusive and informative discussions around a range of topics which will benefit everyone who attends. Sessions will cover a range of life and work skills, how to understand and use philosophical insights from ancient times to today, and developing language proficiency (specifically for Greek and English native speakers who are learning either as a second language). We welcome input and interaction, suggestions and contributors of all backgrounds and levels.
  • The hosts include TESOL Teachers, Educators, Philosophers, and Professionals of all Scientific Fields from Greece, England and elsewhere.
  • We aim to collectively develop our skills in problem-solving, teamwork, decision-making, interpersonal and professional communication, presentation, understanding and knowledge of philosophy and science.

When do we meet?

  • You can join us ONLINE ON THURSDAYS at 6:00 pm EEST (Greece)/4:00 pm BST (England)/10:00 am CT (Wisconsin, United States)/ 11:00 pm CST (Beijing, China)
  • Each session lasts 60 minutes!!

Languages Used

  • Sessions take place in English and Greek.

Group Rules

  1. We are encouraged to keep our cameras on as this is a virtual classroom! Our regular Zoom sessions are NOT recorded.
  2. We have to respect each other as colleagues, peers, and friends.
  3. Not all members are required to talk, but all contributions are welcomed.
  4. The events are moderated and we ask participants to observe the guidelines which will be shared by the moderators at the start of each session.
  5. PLEASE listen an speak respectfully, and be open to what people have to say even if you disagree. Attendance is conditional on being respectful, supportive, and cooperative.

Our Charitable Mission:

  • We aspire to support poor families living in Greece or abroad. Relevant announcements will be made. Uploaded photos on YouTube, FB, and Meetup platforms always verify this kind of charity (donated food, clothes, medicine)!

The group was created in Thessaloniki, Greece and we reference The White Tower to reflect this AND to symbolize our high aspirations!
