Title: Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence – Who Owns the Future?
Description: "From the laboratories of artificial intelligence emerges today the spark of a new genesis. Artificial intelligence and the digital revolution are certain protagonists of the 21st century. The colossal potentials and threats they create will profoundly change our world in the coming decades. They will bring humanity face to face with some of the greatest challenges it has ever encountered. This lecture seeks to explore the most pivotal of these challenges. Artificial Intelligence invites us to contemplate modern technology not only technologically but also philosophically and educationally.
Current and future generations are called to be educated in the ethics of new technology. It is their perceptions that will define their future demands from the unprecedented universe of technology that is now beginning to develop."
In the context of the lecture, key ethical challenges of AI are addressed, such as: the forms of contemporary pervasive use of AI, the ontological dimension of AI, the field of the invisible it weaves for the human mind, the possibility of AI surpassing human intelligence, and the universal ethical and existential threats it (in other words, transhumanism) incubates, the ontological dimension of technology for humans, and education as the main vehicle for managing the challenges that high technology raises.
