Game day at the Y.

I plan to have this event at the main building, but I haven't checked the schedule of the rooms. If none are available, I will move it to the child care center across the street. Again, the Y doesn't close until 7, so 5 is not a hard end time.

Please, bring any games that you want to play. If you want me to bring a particular game let me know. You can check out my collection on BGG. My username is sdschlager.

I'm glad everyone left their character sheets in the Pathfinder game. I will build all of the character decks and locations ahead of time, so you can just pull it and go. I'm so glad everyone enjoyed that game as much as I do! In the interest of efficiency, if any of the six of you on the Pathfinder adventure path aren't going to make it to an event, it would probably be a good idea to communicate that.

The order is: Lou, Rachel, James, Matthias, Art, Melissa, Satish, Brian, Xander, Erin, Chris, Dan, Jacob, Andrew, Phredd, Charlie and Neal.

It looks like I will be picking a game this time. I've been itching to play a Feld, so if you want to get your Euro on...

Don't forget to follow us on Facebook at

I hope to see everyone there!!

I know it sounds trite, but our game days are getting better every time. I really appreciate everyone's enthusiasm and great gaming attitudes. Thanks for the donation Phredd and thanks to everyone for helping me clean up and carry stuff to my car. Thanks to Charlie and Melissa for being there from day one and never missing an event. Thanks again to Neal for his fantastic moderating of Werewolf.

Games played: Pathfinder, Smash Up, Love Letter, No Thanks, Small World, In the Year of the Dragon, Zombie Dice, Cthulhu Fluxx, Snake Oil, Castle Panic, Carcassone and Werewolf.

As always, good games with good folks. I've gotta get in on Snake Oil, when it's next played.
Thanks Art for "In the Year of the Dragon". That was really awesome.

It was a popular topic, so I wanted to post some Totalcon info. It is just my opinion, but I think Templecon might be a little more fun convention in some ways, for pure board gaming fun, Totalcon is better, and its not close. When registration opens in January, I will schedule an event. The dates for 2014 are Feb 20-Feb 23.

    The three aspects of cost:

    Registration: $10/day
If we registered as a group of 5 or more for all 4 days, it would be $35 per person. On-site registration is $15/day and $50 for all four days. Children are approximately 1/2 price.

      Hotel: $94/night
This is a special convention rate. The hotel is about 20 minutes from Providence. A hotel room is hardly necessary. I've only stayed in the hotel one night last year. That being said, I gamed until 5:30 am and I was back in the game room at 8 am gaming again, and I plan on doing it again this year. I am going to stay Wednesday through Saturday nights. They have rooms with two double beds. You can also ask for a cot. That sleeps three very comfortably. If you really want to save, you could fit 5, but the hotel books those rooms for 4 and might frown on 5. So, if you have never been, I can't stress enough that you should drop $10, drive up on Saturday and check it out. I think you just dive in the deep end, get a weekend pass and have a blast!

      The website is:

Oh yeah, to be clear, I love Templecon. I just got rewarded two extra vacation days this year at work. If I can push using those until February, I'll be there all 4 days. Totalcon is just the best board game convention I've attended.
