This is my Karaoke group (started October 2025 through FB Groups) and continued here starting August 2026. I am still running both groups concurrently.
What makes my group different than the others? I don't get "monster" turnouts, so that means everyone gets more turns to sing. Also, my shows have a good vibe and it's easy to feel comfortable and we have a good supportive community.
Just be aware that I rarely do the "Open Mic" concept. I like to challenge people (not too hard) to find and sing songs that adhere to a "theme" so it may require a modicum of research but I assure you my events are a lot of fun. The themes are suggestions and although I encourage people to stick to the theme, I do let people sing whatever, once they are out of ideas. I'm not strict about it.
I will also occasionally want to do Events showing Concerts or Movies with Musical Artists and/or Bands.
Be sure to check your Meetup Messages some time after requesting to join. The icon is on the upper right of the Meetup page that looks like a Caption from the comic strips of the newspaper. If the icon has a red dot, then there is a new communication (probably from me about your acceptance into my group).
Zoom links are provided on the page of the Event that you have RSVP'd to.
The tools you will need to sing Karaoke (all free) are you home computer + Zoom + YouTube. You can use a smartphone in lieu of a computer but the bandwidth is not as good.
Before each of your turns you'll want to search YouTube using the words "Karaoke (artist) (song title)" and choose a good Karaoke video to play.
