Magic awaits with the Malliway Bros!
Witches, wizards, sorcerers, warlocks, enchanters, and magic-makers of all kinds will find community and fun at the Witches' Conclave. We offer workshops and rituals focusing on various aspects of witchcraft with an emphasis on being operative and results-oriented. Practitioners of all skill levels are welcome to attend our meetings, whether you're a fresh witchling just starting off or have been working the weird ways of witchcraft for ages.
We provide inclusive rituals for the phases of the moon and open celebrations for the witch's sabbats. Our classes focus on a wide spectrum of traditional and operative magic, drawing inspiration from our time in the wilds of England's west country.
The Conclave often gathers at our witch shop, Malliway Bros, located at 1407 W Morse Avenue, in the bustling Roger's Park neighborhood of Chicago.

THE WITCHES' CONCLAVE CODE OF CONDUCT
No matter our paths, what spirits we work with, or what forces we conjure, at the Witches' Conclave let's gather in peace. We are here to learn and to spread our magic and in order to do this, there are a few guidelines to follow:
-No photography or recordings of others without their permission.
-Respect other's privacy if they do not wish to share personal information, social media, email, phone numbers, addresses, or spend time outside of the Conclave.
-Do not use the Conclave as a dating pool.
-Do not solicit other members for business or money during events.
-Do not come to or become intoxicated during any classes or rituals. Drinking alcohol is accepted during social events but if it gets out of control, you will be escorted from the event. Repeated offences will result in a ban.
-Any kind of discrimination against another is prohibited. Intentional discrimination will result in a ban.
-Physical or sexual harassment will result in a ban.

Frau Holle, also known as Frau Holda, is a figure from Grimm's fairytales that has deeper roots in mythology as a goddess of winter weather and domestic work. She is also tied with the Norse goddesses Frigg and Freya as well as the demonic winter wraith, Frau Perchta.
In this ritual, we will begin as always by talking a bit about her power and symbolism. Then we'll invoke Frau Holle into a vessel so that we may call upon her powers to sustain us in the remaining winter, through comfort, diligence, and abundance.

Invocations are serious business, so for this spell we will ask for one volunteer that wishes to house the spirit and powers of Frau Holle. It is advised that whoever volunteers has worked with invocations, spirits, and psychic senses in the past.

Chat & Charm - Harmful Psychology

Stop by the shop for another casual gathering of witchery! Chat and Charms are free events for witches to get together and talk about all things magical.

Magic is wonderful and full of possibilities. But because of that, people can be easily fooled in how magic works or use it as a crutch instead of learning ways to deal with their issues. This discussion will be centered around the idea of how magic can be misunderstood or misused to do more harm than good. How does using magic as therapy cause problems? What are the dangers of confirmation bias? Can the placebo effect really be considered magic?

We will be having a hat-draw discussion around everything so think of some questions that you'll want to bring up. Then we'll write them down and draw them at random.

Tea will also be served, but if anyone has any other snacks or drinks they want to bring, then feel free!

It is a very interactive spell that will leave you pure and ready to tackle to world! Bring with you any tools that you may want to have swifted as well!

Greek mythology is full of different types of gods and goddesses. Many have their home on Olympus while others live as spirits upon the earth. In this class we will be looking at the deities that deal with the forces of weather. From the mighty Zeus to the many winds, our class with delve into their myths, symbolism, and powers in the natural world.
As witches, we deal a lot with these forces. Balancing the elements and keeping these beings appeased can be a complicated magic.

Throughout this class we will discuss who these beings are in the Greek point of view and how they might affect our magic. Our mythology classes are more discussion based so come with your thinking caps on for some juicy theorizing. We will still be working with some magic, though, so don't think you won't be getting to stretch those spell casting muscles!
