To celebrate 5 years of The Work Runs Free, Emrys has created The Work on Inadequacy. Over 5 weeks, we explore different ways the experience of inadequacy shows up in our lives, using The Work to investigate our experience.

    Detailed Course Outline: Click Here

    Sliding Scale Price: $120 — Accessible rate / $150 — Standard rate / $180 — Pay it forward

Week 1 — I'm Not Good Enough: The fundamental inadequacy story.

Week 2 — Comparison: Measuring ourselves against other people.

Week 3 — I'm a Fraud / They'll Find Me Out: Imposter feelings, competence and exposure.

Week 4 — Being Loved, Accepted & Enough: Inadequacy in relationships, belonging and being seen by others.

Week 5 — Achievement & Where I Should Be: Success, progress, potential and the feeling that we should be further along.

The course gently moves from the broader experience of inadequacy into increasingly specific areas where it can show up in our lives.

As we gently move into each topic, you are invited to become still and notice any stressful thought, belief or experience that arises through the inquiry, and to write it down — either on a notepad or in an electronic document.

Each session explores one stressful thought, or “one-liner,” using a format known as Popcorn Work. This is the same approach Emrys uses in his weekly The Work Runs Free group. Everyone participates in their own inquiry, but there is no expectation to share. You are equally welcome to keep your inquiry entirely private, if that feels right for you.

The group is deliberately small, with a maximum of 10 participants, allowing us to explore together while each person remains connected to their own experience.

Please note that this is a paid course. In order to join you must register for the event (sign up form above). The Zoom link for this event will be sent around 24 hours after registration and payment has been made.

    A little about Aileen Cheatham
'I found The Work 18 years ago at a time when even though my life looked outwardly good, I was depressed; I felt physically tired and unmotivated. I kept asking myself: “What is this for?”
Through The Work I’ve learned that every situation is for me to free myself from concepts and identity. I’ve learned to use every situation that upsets me to deepen my understanding of who I am in reality. Who I am, is who I am without my stories; without my unquestioned assumptions and interpretations. The experience of who I am deepens every time I do The Work. As a result, I smile more; I feel more relaxed, more flexible, tolerant, and I’m kinder to myself and others.

The Work is what gets me up in the morning. Through it, I’ve learned to look forward to upsetting situations because on the other side of them is my freedom."'

Information on Aileen’s next course entitled Accepting the Gift of Criticism 2026 beginning on Monday 26th October 2026 can be accessed here: https://courses.theworkwithaileen.com/courses/accepting-the-gift-of-criticism-copy

Aileen also has an online self-paced course, Living The Work of Byron Katie, available to explore here: https://courses.theworkwithaileen.com/courses/living-the-work-of-byron-katie
