Wisdom Walk: The Dark
Details
Next up, we’ll explore THE DARK — the season we’re moving into, and what it has always stirred in us.
As the days get shorter, cultures across history have marked this time of year with fire, stories, costumes, and remembering the dead. Halloween is only one version of something much older. When it gets dark, we gather. We tell stories to make sense of what we can’t see. And again and again, people have found that facing the dark, rather than avoiding it, has something to teach.
As fall settles in, our walks are starting to finish after sunset, so this one will literally take us into the dark.
Here’s what to expect:
- We’ll open with a welcome, a quick intro to the topic, and a few notes on how we do this together.
- The walk will be broken into a few stretches, each with a question to sit with.
- You’ll be paired up to talk it through as we walk, and we’ll mix the pairs each round so you get to meet a few people.
- We’ll close with smaller group reflections to share what came up across the conversations.
There is no prep. While we may explore various movement activities and formats in the future, it will always be open to all fitness levels. (And if you want to challenge yourself, feel free to bring or wear a weighted vest or backpack to make it more of a ruck.)
The end of the walk will be after sunset, so if you want to get in mood, bring a headlamp or flashlight if you have one. Otherwise just bring yourself, your walking shoes, and a willingness to think out loud with new people.
Looking forward to gathering again. Whether you’ve walked with us before or this is your first time with the group, glad to have you walking with us.
