Wisdom Walk: The Wild
Details
Next up, we’ll explore THE WILD — the untamed parts of our world and ourselves, and what they might still have to offer.
So much of modern life is built around control. We plan, optimize, and predict nearly everything, and much of that has made life safer and easier. But somewhere along the way, a lot of what was once wild, in the world around us and in ourselves, got trained out.
The wild shows up in many forms. The wild places we rarely spend time in anymore. The curiosity, play, and spontaneity that came easily as kids. The ideas that don’t fit neatly inside what we’ve been told to think. This walk is a chance to explore all of it.
Here’s what to expect:
- We’ll open with a welcome, a quick intro to the topic, and a few notes on how we do this together.
- The walk will be broken into a few stretches, each with a question to sit with.
- You’ll be paired up to talk it through as we walk, and we’ll mix the pairs each round so you get to meet a few people.
- We’ll close with smaller group reflections to share what came up across the conversations.
There is no prep. While we may explore various movement activities and formats in the future, it will always be open to all fitness levels. (And if you want to challenge yourself, feel free to bring or wear a weighted vest or backpack to make it more of a ruck.)
Part of the walk will be after sunset. The park has lights along the path, but flashlights or headlamps are more than welcome. Otherwise just bring yourself, your walking shoes, and a willingness to think out loud with new people.
Looking forward to gathering again. Whether you’ve walked with us before or this is your first time with the group, glad to have you walking with us.
