Comprehensivism in the Islamic Golden Age @ Comprehensivist Wednesdays

Details
This event will explore the practice of comprehensivity, our inclination to integrate all Humanity's sources of learning so as to better comprehend the world and how it works, in the Islamic Golden Age which occurred roughly between the 8th and 14th centuries CE.
To understand the modern world and the history of science, we need to understand the path-breaking intellectual changes of the Islamic Golden Age. When Islamic curated learning starting entering Europe in the 11th century it would gradually spur an intellectual reawakening followed by the Renaissance, the Age of European Capitalist Empires, and the modern world. Readers of Dante's "Comedìa" will find this historical context to Dante's epic poem illuminating.
The topic is informed by three exquisite hour long BBC documentaries on "Science and Islam" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Science_and_Islam_(TV_series) with the award-winning physicist Jim Al-Khalili https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Al-Khalili as host:

Welcome to the series "Comprehensivist Wednesdays". Transdisciplinarity, Renaissance humanism, homo universalis, and Polymathy are some of the ways of describing this approach which Buckminster Fuller called Comprehensivity and described as “macro-comprehensive and micro-incisive”.
