Italian Supper Club: Family-Style Platters — 10 Seats, South Asheville

Ten seats. One long table. Big platters of red-sauce Italian passed down the middle.
This is the second Third Place AVL supper club, and the idea hasn't changed: a table small enough that you actually talk to everyone at it. No name tags, no icebreaker games, no working the room.
Vinnie's is old-school neighborhood Italian: dim lighting, chicken parm, twice-baked lasagna, and spaghetti in their Sunday Gravy. A lot of the menu comes family-style, so we'll order a few platters for the table and split them. Passing a bowl of pasta to a stranger is the easiest conversation starter there is, which is exactly why this works when you're arriving alone.
The Plan:
• 6:15 PM — I'll get there early to put our name in and hold the table. Vinnie's doesn't take reservations, so I'll be the one waiting, not you.
• 6:30 PM — We sit, pick a few platters for the middle of the table, and dig in.
• 8:00 PM — Cannoli and cheesecake for anyone who wants it. Conversation keeps going.
• 8:30 PM — Officially done. The kitchen closes at 9 on Mondays.
What to Know:
• Ten seats, hard cap. If your plans change, please free up your spot. Someone else wants it.
• We split the shared platters evenly. Expect roughly $25–35 each with tip, plus whatever you drink.
• Drinking is completely optional. Nobody will notice or care what's in your glass.
• 1981 Hendersonville Rd, South Asheville, well clear of downtown parking.
• Dietary needs? Mention them when you RSVP and I'll make sure we order something that works for you.
• Be decent. Anyone who makes someone uncomfortable will be asked to leave, and I handle that, not the person on the receiving end.
Why This One:
Big events are easy to attend and hard to remember. At forty people you never get a second conversation with anyone. Ten people around one table is small enough that you'll leave actually knowing some names, and the supper club is meant to repeat, so the same faces keep showing up.
Come solo — most of us do.
