The Golden Pineapple on Haywood Road is running The Haunting all month: a limited-run Halloween cocktail pop-up with a dark, spooky-season look. We are grabbing a corner of it for Halloween night, right when the doors open, before the bar fills up.
The Plan:
• 5:00 PM: Doors open. Find us, grab a drink, say hi
• 5:30 PM: Costume show-and-tell. Everyone who dressed up gets 30 seconds to explain who they are (no costume? you are on the judging panel)
• 6:00 PM: Group photo, then keep hanging out
• 7:00 PM: Official wrap. Plenty of time left to head to whatever Halloween party is next
What to Know:
• 10 spots. It is a neighborhood cocktail bar, not a hall, and walk-ins only, so we are keeping it small enough to actually talk
• Free to join. Order and pay for your own drinks. The bar also serves non-alcoholic options and food
• Costumes very welcome, never required. Half a costume counts. Cat ears count
• Street parking on Haywood Road and the side streets. It is Halloween, so give yourself a few extra minutes
• Adults-only hangout
• Can't make it after all? Please drop your RSVP so someone on the waitlist gets your spot
Why This Event:
Halloween is the one night a year strangers talk to each other without an excuse, because the costume is the excuse. Show up as whoever you want to be for a couple of hours, meet a few new people, and leave with plans for the rest of the night.
Come solo. Most of us do.
