AUTUMN: Who doesn’t love an autumnal walk in a forest! Our next scheduled hike will be our first-ever in the Forest of Dean on Saturday 26th September.
The route is a 7-mile hike taking in the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, but also Speech House and Cannop Ponds.
We’ll tick off the sculptures as we go plus we’ll follow a small section of the Gloucestershire Way through the forest too.
Please come equipped with appropriate walking gear and do bring water and any other snacks you want to, especially just in case the weather doesn’t turn out the way we may like! You are responsible for your own safety, so please wear sensible clothing, footwear and potential waterproofs. A first aid kit will be carried in the event of an accident, but we hope we won’t have to use it!

The meeting point is Speech House Woodland car park, GL16 7EG. It’s a small car park but it’s the only free one to save us pennies! It’s very close to the Speech House Hotel off the B4226 Speech House Road.
Please meet at the car park between 10am and 10:30am. We will be leaving at 10:30am on the dot so do contact me (Will) on 07704728243 if you’re running late or if you can’t make the walk.
If you cannot attend please don’t worry as we have more walks for the future. See you there!
NOTE: If you are travelling by car from the north from Worcestershire or other parts of Gloucestershire (e.g. Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Cotswolds etc), please allow for extra time on your journey as there are currently roadworks on the A40 Over Bridge near Gloucester. Delays may be possible on a weekend so do bear this in mind.
