Ross-on-Wye and Penyard Wood 9 Mile Walk

The first 3CYWG of 2026 will take place on Saturday 31st January, the first walk in Herefordshire for our group. We’ll be walking from Ross-on-Wye town centre and exploring the woodland paths to Chase Wood Hill and Penyard Wood above the town. Please come equipped with appropriate walking gear and do bring enough of your own food, water and snacks. You are responsible for your own safety, so please wear sensible clothing, footwear and potential waterproofs. A first aid kit will be carried in the event of an accident, but we hope we won’t have to use it!

There are five cheap car parks which cost £2.50 for the whole day at Kyrle Street, Edde Cross and Kings Acre Lower & Higher. Wilton Road is slightly further away near the river but cheaper at £1.
