Let's welcome Mr. Moon to rise as we climb up this steep trail to the top. We'll picnic there surrounded by panaramic city-lights views. According to this website, March Moon will rise at 6:24pm and be full at 2:28 (the next morning):

Length: about 3 miles, but don't let the short distance fool you - it's very steep

Time: between hiking and picnicking - about 2 hours

What to bring: headlamp/flashlight, water of course, warm clothes in case it's chilly up top, picnic items to share - veggies & dip, crackers & cheese, fruit, whatever suits your fancy

Note: the trail is steep and rather rocky; not recommended for beginners

Directions to trailhead: take Shea Blvd to 40th Street, turn south and go a few blocks to the parking lot at the end of the road. See me in the little red lexus.

RSVP's open March 13
