Lollipop Loop + HP near Prescott

A year ago I led a loop near here which was a hit. This loop is adjacent to that one. However, this offers more. We will now be heading to the massive Juniper which the hot shots valiantly saved. We will also be going up Granite Mtn. We'll be starting away from it all. As usual with me, don't expect to see much for other people through most of this hike.

Birds & wildflowers are commonly seen out here. After switching trails, expect the views to become more pronounced. We will then hit Granite Mtn. trail from the opposite side of the traditional approach. The elev. gain now becomes more pronounced. A bit of overgrowth along the route. A terrific view point fairly soon along this trail. The way forward ends at a perch amongst the boulders.

We will head back that same 2+ miles of Granite Mtn trail. Next we begin dropping elev. on Lil Granite. Finally looping back out on rarely used Upper Pasture. Will agree on a restraunt after the hike. Let's close out the Prescott season with a bang!

High Point: 7,186 ft.
AEG: 2,150 ft.
Forecast: Expect a high of about 80 with a pleasant breeze. Not much for shade through much of the loop section. Cooler temps on Granite Mtn.

Meet: 7:30 AM Target 2727 W Agua Fria Fwy 85027 Meet on side near 7-11 toward Beardsley Rd. Cars should be left here. Route in to trails doesn't appear on some maps.
