We are offering up a nice Sunday morning stretch of the legs to start your day. If you are looking for something to do, come on out and spend time with friends. We'd love to meet you! We will spend some time on the peak, enjoying the views, taking pictures, and snacking/lunching prior to our descent.

Distance: Approximately 4 +/- miles

Accumulated Elevation Gain: About 900 feet

Hike Time: Expect to spend 2.5-3 hours on this trek depending on the group's speed.

Difficulty: This hike should be considered easy for the first half of the trek, and moderate to moderately difficult for the climbing section, as we bag the peak. As always, these descriptions are dependent on your own abilities.

What To Bring: Water, sunscreen, hat, camera, snacks/lunch, sturdy footwear, and your sense of adventure.

Note: There is a porta-potty, but no water at the trailhead.

Carpool arrangements and spots can be made by agreement. Just use the "Comments" section to make a suggestion to your fellow hikers!

DIRECTIONS TO THE TRAILHEAD: From Phoenix, travel east on Route 60 east of Apache Junction to Kings Ranch Road. Take a left on Kings Ranch Road for about 2.5 miles to Baseline Road. At Baseline Road, take a right. Go .3 miles and turn left. (You'll see a sign directing you to the trailhead.) Go .4 mile to Valley View and turn left again. (You'll see another sign directing you to the trailhead.) Valley View will turn into N. Whitetail. Go .5 mile to a "T" and then turn right onto East Cloudview. Proceed for another .3 mile to the parking lot. From Kings Ranch Road to the trailhead, allow yourself 10 minutes driving time.

Due to the nature of this hike, involving some off trailing and no signed junctions, it is recommended that we keep within close proximity of each other. We will stop at each junction to assure we have everybody, but if you are ahead of the hike leaders, you are on your own.

Please understand, hiking has its dangers. By signing up and attending this, and any 3H events, you are responsible for your own safety, and organizers and their assistants cannot be held responsible for any injuries or other mishaps that may occur.
