Tonto Wagon Trail.

Please read carefully. This is not an easy hike, but it is a fun one!

This is a neat little hike near an Old section of the original Apache Trail. AKA Tonto Wagon trail. Starting at 0700 am, we will hike up a wash for a while, enter a really cool canyon and proceed up stream till we get blocked by large boulders. We will make our way through these boulders by crawling slithering and any which way we can. We will be boulder hopping most of the way and there will be some bushwhacking, climbing ,and scrambling. We may have to wade in a few spots.

We will meet and leave from a parking area 1.7 mi past Tortilla Flat on Hwy 88 on the left side of the road. Just South East of Mesquite Flat. GC N33 32.138 W111 22.429. At 0700 am.

We will have to pass through 1 or 2 caves.

This will not be a good hike for dogs.

Distance approximately 6.5 mi.
Elevation about 1900 all together.

Bring .
Water and nutrients to sustain you for 4 or 5 hrs of strenuous outdoor activity.

Your preferred means of protection from the elements and the terrain.

Long pants may be nice.

A flashlight or a head lamp.

Shoes that you don't mind getting wet.

A sense of adventure.
