Friday Dreamy Draw Full Moon + Sunset + City Lights Hike
Details
Come join us for a relaxed evening hike at Phoenix Mountains Preserve / Dreamy Draw! The hike is beginner difficulty and people of all skill levels are welcome! The hike is timed to catch both a beautiful Arizona sunset and to see stunning city light views. This week only, you can see the Flower Full Moon, which peaks at 12:22pm on May 1st and will be rising in the east during our hike.
We hike at a moderate pace and the pace and route of the hike are designed to include everyone. We encourage you to make friends and meet interesting people from Phoenix and beyond!
We'll take the outer loop of Dreamy Draw Nature Trail over to Perl Charles trail and head up to see the sunset from a rock vista that overlooks the park. We'll stop at the second bench for rest and some great views. From there, we'll hike the back side of Christiansen trail over to another spot with panoramic city light views. We'll have time to chill, and take some amazing photos before we head back! The route is chosen to be almost entirely shaded on the ascent. Please bring a flashlight for the somewhat easy descent!
