Pine Mountain, Prescott National Forest

We're going to Pine Mtn in the Prescott National Forest. This area is not frequently visited and could be overgrown and might have some route finding sections. We have not been to this area before and this will be an exploratory hike, join the fun! If you've been before and want to lead us on our way that would be awesome!

High clearance vehicles are advised but descriptions of the 18 mile dirt road have been friendly to crossover vehicles. We have a lifted Tacoma that will seat 5 with some squishing in the back seat. The first 3 to sign up can ride with Juan and James but beyond that we will need additional high clearance vehicles to make it out there. Please let us know if you have a 4wd high clearance vehicle and how many can ride with you. Here is a description of the hike, we might make the distance longer if we are feeling good and the weather is nice. We will meet at 545am at the McDonald's at the Carefree hwy and the I 17. Dugas Rd is within an hour of the McDonald's and the 18 miles to the trailhead takes approximately 1hr.

Please bring enough food and water to sustain you for a full day of hiking in little to no shade. Wear sun protection, full pants (unless you like bushwhacking in shorts) and good shoes for desert and forest terrain, possibly off trail. Please be capable of hiking at a pace of 2mph or more.

I hereby waive, release, and discharge the Meetup Group and its Administrators, moderators, volunteers, organizers, sponsors, members, and participants from any and all claims for personal injury, property damage, or death resulting from my participation in any of this group's events. I acknowledge that hiking/backpacking can be a high-risk sport. I realize there are certain dangers inherent in hiking, and I assume these risks with the full understanding that injuries may result from my participation in any event. I intend this release to discharge the above named from any and all liability arising from or connected in any way with my participation in any event, even though that liability may result from the negligence or carelessness of the above named. I certify that I am in good physical condition, and that I am able to participate in the event.
I have read this waiver and release and fully understand its terms and agree that it shall be binding on my heirs and assigns. I consent to emergency transportation and care at my own expense if I become injured or ill. My RSVP and/or participating in this event is my signature on this waiver.
