Apache Wash - Phx Sonoran Preserve

A new trail system to explore. This hike climbs two summits in the new Sonoran trail system. We follow the Sidewinder trail, including a visit to Apache vista, then continue to the Ridgeback trail and Ridgeback overlook, then return to the start via the Octillo trail. The route is 5.8 miles of gently rolling bicycle trail and is not rocky. With the darker months approaching, don't forget your light.

Directions: From loop 101, exit I17 and drive North to Dove Valley road, drive apprx 5 miles East and look for the parking area on the left. Alternately: From the East valley, exit loop 101 at Cave Creek, go North to E Sonoran Desert drive. Turn left on E Sonoran Desert drive then take the first right which is the trail head.
