We will have providers able to answer your questions, a scavenger hunt with prizes, lots of great information, and more. Come out and get what you need!
Please join us for a very informative parent training on Individualized Education Plans (I.E.P.) with our highly regarded speaker, Mr. C.J. Butler, M.S.Ed., Master Lecturer of Special Education at Old Dominion University. Check-in is in Room 244A at the Virginia Beach Higher Education Center located at 1881 University Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23453. This is a program designed to help parents navigate and advocate! The Autism Society, Tidewater Virginia and the Autism Buddies have teamed up to provide Respite Nights in Virginia Beach at the Bounce House. Please RSVP using this link, https://goo.gl/forms/2tSYyXNl2Nh9UYL23. We are limited to 20 spaces, and 3 children per family limit. If a child is under the age of 4 and/or not toilet trained, then we do ask that the parent stay as our volunteers cannot change diapers. Child with Autism is FREE, and Sibling(s) are $5 each. Please have exact cash when you check-in. We gladly accept donations to continue funding these respite nights.
Location Change! We will be meeting at Pembroke Pizza just down the road so we have more space to accommodate our larger group. Come meet new friends, share ideas, get support and encouragement and find out about resources and more! This group is facilitated by Theresa Zano-McMillan, Autism Society, Tidewater Virginia President and Medicaid Mentor. This is an open discussion group. This event is recommended for Adults who would like to Discuss Autism. Not recommended for children, no childcare is available.
