Kevin Fowler will give a layman's presentation of nuclear power, the difference between fission (what we use now) and fusion, and the difficulties of getting fusion to work. He will also address the advances made in fusion recently and why some of the news recently is good, but not as good as headlines might have you think.
Kevin was trained at the Naval Nuclear Power School. This gives him a solid grounding in nuclear power, and he has enthusiastically kept abreast of recent research in the field.
Note that dinner is at 6:30 and the presentation begins at 7:30. You're not required to eat, so feel free to show up any time before 7:30. A tip to help get your food out of the kitchen faster: Take a look at the Bangkok Garden (http://bangkokgardenvb.com)'s online menu and order your food as soon as you get there. (We generally do this so we don't hit the kitchen with all the orders at once.)
See you there!
