What we’re about

Tijuana (Te-hwana) Mexico is just a few hours away. I've been traveling to Tijuana, via public transportation for over ten years.*

This group's purpose is to share knowledge and to build a network of people who travel to Tijuana.

The culinary scene in Tijuana is incredible. The seafood alone is enough to make the journey (pulpo!). If you're into gourmet dining, this city offers so many options.

There is a beautiful, rarely crowded hot springs in the middle of Tijuana. They offer massage and spa services, but the main draw is their hot spring dome and Olympic sized plunge pool. Watch the sun set over the city from a hilltop hot spring.

Speaking of spa services: Waxing, nails, laser, lashes, massages, facials, and other aesthetic services are inexpensive and abundant.

The beach is a twenty minute drive. Uber there for around $10 or catch a route taxi for $2. The Malecon de Playas de Tijuana (boardwalk) features restaurants, live music, and Pacific Ocean sunsets. (You can Uber or route taxi to Rosarito as well.)

There are two huge shopping venues in Zona Rio, an open air market and an open air mall. Boutique shops along the streets offer many opportunities for the savvy shopper.

The night life can be wild or relaxing. Zona Centro, the tourist area has night clubs, restaurants, music, and a walking mall. The higher-end areas like Zona Rio and Cacho offer restaurants, breweries, live music, and rooftop hangouts.

Getting to Ensenada and other areas can be easy using the ABC buses. There is an incredible wine region 90 minutes from the border that looks like Napa Valley.

I will be setting up some social meetings where we can discuss details and get a feel for how folks would like to participate. There are many things to do in San Diego as well. There are many more things you can do in the area; this is too long to read as it is.

*Land in San Diego; take public transportation to San Ysidro. This takes about a block of walking, 45 minutes to an hour of your time, and $6. (You can Uber to San Ysidro for around $30-$40.) Once in San Ysidro it is about a quarter mile walk to cross the border.
