サクラが咲きそうです！ということで、そろそろハイパークに観に行きませんか？
現在記載されている開催日は暫定的なものです。開花のピークが分かり次第、日程を調整する予定です。
ハイパークの桜の木2000本は、第二次世界大戦後にトロントが再移住した日本人家族を受け入れたことへの感謝として、1959年に駐カナダ日本大使からトロント市に贈られたもので、この時期は桜の美しさを堪能できます。
私たちは、おそらく丘の上の池の近くで(*)集まると(*)思います（下の写真、マーカーと道路の間参照）。もし私たちを探したいのであれば、ブルーシートと「TJEXお花見」と書かれた看板を探してみてください。
道順です：集合場所まで一緒に行きたい方は、11時半前に(*)TTCのハイパーク駅(*)にお越しください。オーガナイザーの一人が待ち合わせ場所まで案内します。(*)11時半ちょうどにハイパーク駅を出発するので、当日のTTCの状況を必ずチェックして下さい。(TTC closure today等で検索するとでてきます。)(*)
11時半前までにハイパークステーションに到着できない場合。ハイパーク駅をハイパーク通り経由で出て、通りに出たら右折してください。ハイパークに入ったら、道なりに右へ10～15分ほど進むと、桜の木にたどり着きます。
もし見つからない場合は、丘の上（公園エリア内）に洗面所として使われている（いた）建物があるので、そこを代替の集合場所として、遅れてきた私たちを探す人たちのために使用します。
希望者は、飲食物を持参することができます。ただし、日本とは異なり、公共の公園でお酒を飲むことはできません。TJEXの協力で、みんなでシェアできるようなスナックを持参する予定です。
ベンチがほとんどないので、ブランケットやタオル、芝生用の椅子を持っていくことをお勧めします。ただし、TJEXには大きなブルーシートがあり、その上に座っていただくことになります。
気温に注意し、天候に合わせて調節できる服装でお越しください。また、一日中外にいることになりますので、日焼け止めをお持ちいただくとよいでしょう。雨天決行とさせていただきます。
なお、このイベントは、この後、ランゲージ・エクスチェンジのイベントに行かれる方の時間に間に合うように終了します。

First-time Japanese speakers are welcomed to join this event.

English speakers who have participated Tjex in at least 1 of our language exchange events within the past 6 months are allowed to join. Please join the waitlist and we will verify your attendance.
The Cherry Blossoms are about to bloom! So, it's time to go see them at High Park!
The current dates listed are tentative. We will adjust the date as soon as we know the peak of blooming.
The 2,000 cherry trees in High Park were a gift to the City of Toronto from the Japanese Ambassador to Canada in 1959 as a token of appreciation for Toronto's acceptance of Japanese families who relocated there after World War II.
We will probably (*) gather (*) near the pond on the hill (see photo below, between the marker and the road). If you want to find us, look for blue sheets and a sign that says "TJEX Cherry Blossom Viewing".
Directions: if you want to come with us to the meeting place, please be at the (*) High Park station (*) of the TTC before 11:30 am. One of the organizers will take you to the meeting point. Please be sure to check the status of the TTC on the day of the event, as we will leave the High Park station at exactly (*)11:30 am. (You can search for TTC closure today, etc.)(*)
If you cannot arrive at High Park Station by 11:30 am. Exit High Park Station via High Park Avenue and turn right when you reach the street. Once in High Park, follow the street to the right for 10-15 minutes until you reach the cherry tree.
If you can't find it, there is (or was) a building at the top of the hill (in the park area) that is (or was) used as a washroom, which will serve as an alternate meeting place for those of us who are late and looking for us.
Those who wish may bring their own food and drink. However, unlike in Japan, we are not allowed to drink alcohol in public parks; with the help of TJEX, we plan to bring snacks that we can all share.
Since there are few benches, we recommend bringing blankets, towels, and lawn chairs. However, TJEX will have large blue sheets for you to sit on.
Please be aware of the temperature and wear clothing that can be adjusted for the weather. You may also want to bring sunscreen, as you will be outside all day. The event will be held rain or shine.
Please note that this event will end in time for those going to the Language Exchange event later in the day.

イベント参加費として、日本人の方(日本で生まれ育ち、現在英語を勉強している方)は無料、日本人以外の方(日本語を勉強している方)は2ドル頂いております。

皆さんから頂いたお金は、こちらのサイトの維持費や将来のランゲージエクスチェンジ施設利用料やソーシャルイベント等のために使われます。ご理解の程、よろしくお願いいたします。

• 4:15 PM - 4:30 PM - チェックイン、グループ分け
• 4:30 PM - 5:15 PM - 日本語の時間［または英語の時間］
• 5:15 PM - 6:00 - 英語の時間［または日本語の時間］

イベント内容

・対面でのLanguage Exchangeを再開しています！参加者のレベルに応じて、事前にオーガナイザーが3〜4名のグループをつくり、そのメンバーで各45分間、それぞれ英語と日本語でセッションを行なっていただきます。決まったディスカッショントピックなどはございませんので、気軽にフリートークや質問をしながらそれぞれのセッションを楽しんでいただければと思います。

・体調が優れない方、あるいはここ数日中に体調が優れない人との接触があった方は、申し訳ありませんが参加をお控え願います。

・イベント参加中はマスク、フェイスカバーの着用をお願いします。

開催場所：Atrium フードコート

地下鉄Dundas駅と直結していますが、多少分かりにくいため、特に初めて参加される方は次の方法で来れることをおすすめします。

1. Dundas駅から地上に出ていただき、Dunsas Streetを西にまっすぐ3分ほど歩いていただきます。
2. Bay Streetとの交差点北東角にある階段を降りてください。
3. 階段を降りた場所にある入り口から入ったところがフードコートですので、そちらでTJEXのサインボードを持ったオーガナイザーにお声がけください。(わからなければメッセージをお願いします！)

予約規約（⚠️重要）

・当日の不参加、もしくは15分以上の遅刻(4:45PM以降)、また予約取消締切後の変更(13:00以降)は原則不参加(No-Show)とみなします。不参加(No-show)が3回になりますと会員登録が抹消され、退会となりますのでご注意ください。

・イベントに遅れそうな場合は必ずオーガナイザーまでメッセージをお願いします。イベント開始時間にいるメンバーでグループを組み直すこともあるので、連絡なしで到着された場合はイベントに参加できない可能性もあります。原則、30分以上遅れての参加はご遠慮いただいております。あらかじめご了承ください。

キャンセル待ち

・満席の場合、”キャンセル待ち”リスト(waiting-list)にご登録いただくことが可能です。“参加予定”リスト（going-list)中に空席が発生した場合は、”キャンセル待ち”への登録が早かった方を優先に、”参加予定”へ移動いただけます。

※ご注意※

・空席ができた際は、自動的に”キャンセル待ち”より”参加予定”へ変更されます。この時にMeetupよりお知らせがあるかはわかりません。

・システムにより自動的に”参加予定”とされ、それに気づかずに参加しなかった場合でも、不参加とみなされますのでご了承ください。

・上記の理由により、確実に参加できる場合のみ”キャンセル待ち”への登録をお願いします。予定が入ってしまった場合は、”キャンセル待ち”にいる場合も必ずイベント当日の午後1時までに予め”不参加”リストに移動させてください。

***Although our group is a non-profit organization, we collect $2.00 per member for every event. These proceeds are used to run this website, for social events and room booking fees for future sessions. Thank you for your kind understanding.
RSVP open: ６:３0 PM (Saturday after previous event)

Event Description

• This is an in-person language exchange! Members are placed into groups of three or four based on their language level. Each 45 minute session consists of friendly casual conversation, and/or informal study.

Event Location: Atrium Food Court

• The food court is directly connected to the Dundas subway station, although it is a bit difficult to find. Especially for those who will join our event for the first time, we recommend the following directions,

1. Leave the subway station and walk west for about three minutes along Dundas Street.
2. At the intersection of Bay Street and Dundas Street, you will find an entrance. Proceed down the escalator.
3. The food court is on the basement floor. Please talk to the organizer with the signboard showing TJEX. (If you can’t find them, please send a message to the organizer.)

⚠️RSVP & Late Policy

• Failure to show, arriving after 4:45 PM (15 minutes late), and cancelling after 1:00 PM on the day of the event all constitute a "no-show". Members are removed from the group after their third no-show.
• If you are running late, please ensure you send a message to the organizer so we can keep a spot open for you. We will rearrange the groups for members who show up on time. If you show up late without letting us know, we will no longer allow you to join so please be mindful of the time.

Waiting List:
Members can join the waiting list if an event is full. In case a spot becomes available, it will be automatically assigned to a member on the waitlist on a first-come first-serve basis.
PLEASE BE ADVISED:
Members from the “Waiting” list are moved automatically to the “Going” list by the system when a spot opens up. You may or may not get a notification from Meetup when this happens. So only sign up on the “Waiting list” for an event if you are sure you can come for it. If the system automatically puts you on the “Going” list and you don't show up to the event, you will receive a strike.
