Book your own accommodation along Jonker Street.

-------------------------
Read this:

For bus ticket, pick the one at 8.30 am from Queens Street Bus Terminal and alight at Casa Del Rio Hotel (if no more slots, alight at 707 Jonker Street should do as well). See screenshots. These two stops are the closest to Jonker Street. If no more tickets left to those places, then just book any of the other drop-off points, but you'll need to take Grab to your accommodation. The journey from Singapore will take between 3 1/2 hours - 4 hours, so, we'll arrive around 12.30 pm, just nice for lunch.

Alternatively, if you can't get the 8.30 am ticket, then you can just pick the 9.30 am slot from the same location, we'll just meet at Malacca.

For returning bus ticket, pick the one from Casa Del Rio Hotel at 2 pm (on 5th of Feb) with Citiline bus and the destination will depend on which area in Singapore you are going to. For Citiline bus, the options are Jurong East, Bugis and Serangoon.

Accommodation-wise, I'll leave it up to you guys, as everybody has their own budget preferences. Just book the ones along Jonker Street for easy meet-up.

Why on Feb 4th? well, it's just nice for 元宵节 (Yuan Xiao Jie) or 'Cap Goh Meh' (15th day of the Lunar Calendar, which marks the end of Chinese New Year). Melaka was a Portuguese colony (and after that, Dutch), hence, some of the colonial era structures still remains, such as the famous Red Church Melaka, Fort A Famosa, St. Paul's church and others. Melaka is also known for its Baba Nyonya (Peranakan) culture. We'll visit the Peranakan Museum there. It is also known for its food such as Chicken Rice ball and Satay Celup. Of course, you can't mention Melaka without mentioning the 'seems-like-everybody-knows-this-place', the Jonker Street! which is a pedestrian street, selling all kinds of street food. Triggered enough? Join us!
