Details
Overview
Toasted Fig Group Hike #5 along the Mole Gap Trail - a point-to-point route from Dorking to Leatherhead through ancient woodland, past England's largest vineyard, and along the River Mole. Relaxed pace, great company, no car needed.
About this hike
Join us for Group Hike #5 - a stunning route through the Surrey Hills, one of the most beautiful corners of the Southeast.
Under an hour from central London, the Mole Gap Trail feels worlds away from the city. Ancient woodland, sweeping chalk downland, and the quiet rhythm of the River Mole winding through the valley. This is the perfect wholesome Sunday.
The route
We'll be covering approximately 6 miles through the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, starting at Dorking and finishing at Leatherhead. Along the way we'll pass through Denbies Wine Estate, England's largest vineyard, with views across the rolling North Downs, before dropping down to follow the River Mole through the valley.
Expect a mix of open hillside, ancient woodland, and riverside paths.
The terrain is varied but accessible, suitable for most fitness levels. Sturdy footwear is recommended as it can get muddy after rain.
