Hike & Pub Stop | Lewes Circular | Sun 12 July

Castle ruins, chalk hills and the River Ouse, a proper Sussex day out ๐ŸŒฟ

A circular hike from the historic market town of Lewes, taking in open downland, sweeping views and a slice of English history along the way. About an hour from central London but feeling genuinely rural from the moment you step off the train.

About this hike
We start in Lewes and head up over the hills of Blackcap and Mount Harry with beautiful views across the South Downs. We follow the River Ouse back into town, passing Lewes Castle on the way. We'll stop off at a pub in Lewes on our way back for a well deserved drink!

The route
A mix of downland, hillside and riverside paths with some inclines and 950 feet of elevation total. Expect beautiful views, a slice of history, and some sheep to pass by.
