⚔️ Fantasy Blade Works: Lightsaber Training Experience (Yokohama)
Details
( 英語テキストの下に日本語テキストが表示されます! )
So I’m starting something a little different out here in Yokohama…
We’ll be doing a mix of lightsaber-style training, movement, and some basic taijutsu / MMA-inspired techniques in the park. Nothing too intense—this is more about learning, moving, and having fun than trying to knock each other out.
Expect things like:
- Basic technique (strikes, movement, positioning)
- Light partner drills
- Very controlled, friendly sparring
All levels are welcome, and beginners are totally fine 👍
For now, we’ll be keeping contact light to medium at most. The goal is to stay safe and keep things fun (most of us have jobs, meetings, etc. during the week… so yeah, let’s not show up to Zoom calls with black eyes 😂).
***
👨👩👧 Kids/beginners welcome (earlier session)
The first part will be more relaxed so people can try things out, watch, or just get a feel for it. After that, we’ll shift into more focused training for adults.
⚔️ Equipment
I’ll be bringing a few lightsabers and practice sticks, so you don’t need to bring anything to join.
If you already have your own lightsaber or training weapon, feel free to bring it—but please make sure it’s safe and beginner-friendly.
No sharp edges, no pointed tips, and nothing overly hard. We’re keeping this safe and accessible for everyone.
👕 What to bring
Just wear something you can move in.
If you have a hoodie or jacket, bring it—we can use it for some light grabbing / control drills.
🌧️ Weather
Since this is outdoors, it’s weather-dependent.
If it rains or the ground is too wet, we’ll cancel.
I’ll make the call about 2–3 hours before the event so everyone has time to adjust.
⚠️ Quick disclaimer
This is a friendly training group, not a fight club.
By joining, you agree that:
- You’re participating at your own risk
- You’ll follow instructions and keep things controlled
- The organizer isn’t responsible for injuries or lost items
Just basic common sense 👍
After training, we’ll probably hang out, exchange tips, and maybe grab some food. There are a TON of good places nearby.
If we get a solid group going, I’d like to turn this into a regular weekly thing.
