Event Details:
Looking to try padel in Tokyo or meet new people over the November 3 holiday? Join Tokyo Expat Social Club for a beginner-friendly padel afternoon at Padel Tokyo Mizumachi, near Tokyo Skytree.
Come alone, bring a friend, or join as a first-time player. No partner or previous padel experience is needed.
We have three courts reserved for two full hours, with rotating teams and opponents throughout the afternoon. You’ll get opportunities to play with different people, take breaks, and chat between games.

Padel is a doubles racket sport combining elements of tennis and squash. It’s played on a smaller, enclosed court where the walls are part of the game. The doubles format makes it a social activity to try with new people.
This is a casual social session rather than a competitive tournament. Some attendees will be trying padel for the first time, others will have joined previous TESC sessions, and experienced players are welcome too.
Most TESC attendees come alone, so you don’t need to know anyone beforehand. Expats, Japanese locals, internationals, and visitors looking to make friends in Tokyo are all welcome.

What to Expect:

Tokyo Talk Time is a free online social on Discord for anyone who feels like talking, meeting a few new people in Tokyo, or simply spending an hour around others.
We’ll start with a simple midweek check-in and let the conversation go wherever the group takes it: life in Tokyo, work, travel, things happening lately, weekend plans, or whatever else comes up. There’s no presentation, networking agenda or formal discussion topic.

You’re welcome whether you’ve been part of Tokyo Expat Social Club for a while or have never joined one of our events before. Expats, Japanese locals, internationals and newcomers are all welcome.
This is intentionally a smaller and quieter format than our in-person socials. You don’t need to be particularly outgoing, and there’s no pressure to speak constantly. Come as you are, join the conversation when you feel like it, and stay for as much of the hour as you want.

Most people join TESC without already knowing anyone, so coming alone is completely normal. If you’ve been curious about the community, this is an easy way to say hello from home.
