Tokyo Gaming Discussion Club Session 001: TGDC Heads West to Shibuya

Details
After a great “Session Zero” in the not-exactly-easy-to-reach Shin-Kiba (that’s my—Adam’s—fault for planning), we’re heading west to the (hopefully, for anyone who wants to join us) much more central SHI-BOO-yah, which will officially kick off the monthly Tokyo Gaming Discussion Club (TGDC) hangouts.
TGDC is simply a place for anyone in Tokyo who wants to meet up (IRL) and talk about video games—whether you’re a game developer, video essayist, journalist, professor, or even an orca whale researcher who enjoys tower defense games as a hobby. Or, if you’re a copywriter who likes video games and discussing them (like me), TGDC is a new space for you.
In Session Zero, we covered topics like the “stupidity” of difficulty selection in gaming, how to start your own game studio after moving to Japan, and had a fun, freewheeling conversation about our gaming lives writ large.
Again, as this is an all-walks-of-life gaming club, we only ask that members be respectful of everyone’s gaming knowledge, experience, and opinions—including hot takes, critiques, and discussions.
Hopefully, by shifting the conversation to Shibuya, our little salon-style discussion club can gain a bit more traction and momentum.
Hope to see you there!
