Seneca: On the Shortness of Life

Details
In this session, we’ll read and discuss extracts from Seneca's (c. 4 BCE – 65 CE) On the Shortness of Life.
We'll look at Seneca's views on wasting time, ambition, procrastination, and his view that philosophy can effectively expand life.
As always, we will reflect on how these timeless ideas can be applied to our modern lives.
It's not absolutely necessary to have read On the Shortness of Life in order to take part. However, it's very short (only about 20 pages), so it's recommended if you possibly can!
You can find free translations of On the Shortness of Life here and here.
There's also a good, free narration on YouTube here.
This event is free, but please support the venue by buying a drink. Order at the bar before taking your seat.
There is a waitlist, so if you need to change your reservation, please do so promptly to allow others enough notice to attend.
The group is non-religious and apolitical, focusing on practical philosophy.
No previous knowledge is needed. Newcomers welcome!
