October - the golden month, as the colours of the tree’s leaves turn a palette of rustic hues, whilst the lowered sun creates long shadows that dance across the mushroomed canopy below; hiking trails laden with fallen crunchiness.

This serene trail is maybe one of the best locations to take in this autumnal beauty, with an adventurous route that conquers the Surrey Hills and briefly skirts the South Downs.

  • Torch (Autumn/Winter hikes)
  • Sit mat
  • Outdoor wear – basic technical clothing & equipment
  • AVOID - jeans
  • Waterproofs (rain forecast?)
  • Footwear – recommend ankle support hiking boots, not essential
  • Packed Lunch (high energy snacks possibly)
  • Water – 1 to 2 litres
  • Vaseline (good for avoiding blisters)
