Maribyrnong Meandering Mixer - 15km - Easy/Moderate
Maribyrnong Meandering Mixer - 15km - Easy/Moderate
**🌿 Maribyrnong Meander: Flirty River Ramble & PicnicSaturday 7 February — 9:30** a.m. start (arrive from 9:15 a.m.) Boathouse Café → Canning Reserve → Boathouse Café (15 km return) Long but an easy to moderate walk. ***\#\#\# Before you consider joining this event\, read the group rules section at the end \#\#\#*** Ready to stretch your legs, your social muscles, and maybe your flirtation radius? Join us for a long, lazy, exploratory wander along the Maribyrnong River—an easy, flat 15 km return that’s perfect for conversation, curiosity, and seeing who naturally drifts into step beside you. We’ll meet at the Boathouse Café in Moonee Ponds, where the early birds can caffeinate, snack, or casually “accidentally” bump into someone over a croissant. If you want breakfast, best to get there at 8.30 am. At 9:30 a.m. sharp, we set off at a relaxed, chat-friendly pace. This route is new to the organiser (yes, we’re all discovering together), so expect a little adventure, a lot of scenery, and the occasional “Is this the right path?” bonding moment. Around the halfway point, we’ll settle into Canning Reserve for a picnic lunch—bring whatever fuels you, whether that’s sandwiches, strawberries, or strategic snack-sharing. After lunch, we’ll wander back along the river to the Boathouse Café, sun-kissed, endorphin-lit, and pleasantly tired. **Please Note** *As I am removing No Shows from the group I get a lot of people **flaking** just prior to the registration cut off, usually not giving people on the waitlists fair warning to attend. If there is a waitlist and you're on it and would still like to come (i.e. Under 21 people registered to attend which is my max number) contact me to put you on the going list*. **🌞 What to bring** * Sunscreen, water (1 or 2 litres) and snacks, small backpack Sun hat or parasol * Comfortable walking clothes and shoes (runners or better) * A light picnic lunch * Your best riverside banter * A sense of exploration (the route is flat?… presumably). I've not done it before. **🤔 What not to b ring** Purses, tote bags, long dresses, shoes more appropriate for Chadstone than long walks. Jeans aren't a great idea. **🌡️ Weather note** If the temperature forecast is set to go above 33°C during the walk , the walk may be cancelled—because heatstroke is not a meet-cute. **🚋 Public transport** Catch the 57 tram from Elizabeth St and hop off at Stop 41 (Maribyrnong Park). From there, it’s an easy stroll to the café. Come for the walk, stay for the company, and let the river do the mood lighting. **Optional extension**, depending on how people feel I may extend the walk by another 4km to Flemington via the wetlands and the racecourse. **⚠️ Group Rules & Event Etiquette ⚠️** These are basic, commonsense standards that keep events safe, smooth, and enjoyable for everyone. **👟 Fitness Requirements** Walking: 3–4 km/hr for 15km with few breaks We walk at a relaxed pace. Please ensure you meet the fitness level for the event. If the group is forced to wait excessively, you may be asked to leave the event. **⛹️ Pace: Too Fast or Too Slow** Small social events rely on staying together. If you prefer a very different pace, consider going solo, joining a faster/slower group, or choosing events that match your fitness. **👩‍💼 Time Constraints** If you’re on a tight schedule, this may not be the right event. Social activities rarely run exactly on time. **⚠️ CRITICAL EXPECTATIONS ⚠️** **👻 No‑Shows** No‑shows block waitlisted people from attending and disrupt small-group events. * Remove yourself at least 24 hours before the event. * No‑shows will likely be removed and blocked from the group. * Last‑minute cancellations **(“flaking”)** may also result in group removal, especially when there is a waitlist. **👀 Attending Without Being on the Going List** This is a security issue. **Do NOT turn up unannounced**. If you’re not on the Going list and haven’t arranged it with the organiser beforehand, you will be asked to leave. Event check‑ins are performed. **⏰ Late Arrivals** If you’re late, the group will not wait. * You may be marked as a No‑Show and removed from the group. * It’s your responsibility to communicate and catch up—this may not be possible for some events. **🎲 Second Chances** If something goes wrong, communicate with the organiser. Silence + poor behaviour = removal. Communication + accountability = second chances. As the organiser is busy organising this may be impossible during the event. **🚩Disclaimer: No Liability & Organiser IndemnityBy participating in this event, you acknowledge and accept full personal responsibility for your own safety, wellbeing, and belongings. The organiser assumes no liability for injury, loss, or damage incurred during the activity. Participation is entirely at your own risk.**

Snooker/Pool @ the Red Triangle
Snooker/Pool @ the Red Triangle
Meet at the Red Triangle in Fitzroy to play pool. If there are multiple people interested in snooker, we can open up a snooker table. The host will pay for table hire at the end of the event, then we'll split the cost along with a small addition in order to help cover the Meetup fees (+$2 per person per event) - so please bring $10-15 cash or be prepared to pay via PayID. The host will arrive early and secure a table for us to meet at. See you there! **Please update your RSVP if you can't make it!** Rules: In case any rule needs clarification, we play according to the World Eightball Pool Federation rules (https://www.wepf.org/docs/rules_2019.pdf). The most relevant rules are: 1. Fouls result in two visits being awarded to the opponent. That means the shots "carry on" if balls are potted. 2. Committing a foul on the same shot that the Eight Ball is potted results in losing the game. Potting the cue ball while on the Eight Ball does not result in losing. 3. After the cue ball is potted, the next player can play the cue ball in any direction from baulk (the rectangular area at the top of the rable sectioned off by a line). PARKING: There is paid parking here - https://goo.gl/maps/f73ro6uGhjG6e7Cv7. Free parking is difficult to find around that area, but usually there are spots around here: https://goo.gl/maps/18xLmb6htMQSbvbN7. Please note: the venue is not wheelchair-accessible, and requires climbing \~6 short flights of stairs.

Introduction to Guided Drawing
Introduction to Guided Drawing
Guided Drawing is a sensorimotor art therapy practice developed and taught by Cornelia Elbrecht that helps us to reconnect with our emotions through movement and sensation. Our emotions live in the body and when we practice listening inward, we can feel more grounded and regulated. This approach gently supports parts of our life experiences that may be difficult to access through talking alone, especially memories and feelings beneath conscious awareness. The session begins with a short introduction and gentle warm-up. With your eyes closed, you will use both hands to map out sensations within your body and to draw out any movements that your body might need, allowing your embodied self to guide the process. I will demonstrate the activity while also offering suggested shapes and interventions during the process. Testimonial from previous participants who have generously given me permission to share: "I am so very grateful for the session we had today. The explanation of what to do, how to connect with my body and examples of how to express myself and tap into my own feelings, made the session feel so aligned to exactly what I needed. I felt very safe and secure in your presence to look inwards and pull the processing of my feelings into my hands, wrists, arms and shoulders as my emotions ran through them and into the pastels you supplied. I felt safe to cry as I searched inwards to feel how my body was storing stress and pain, and pull it out onto the page, to self sooth with the sound of the pastels scraping along the page, my hands alchemising my wounded self into reassurance and calmness. The space you held for me, your gentle encouragement and your kind guidance are so truly special and I literally feel unloaded after our session. I feel like I can breathe easier. Thank you for showing me this strategy to connecting and soothing myself, I'll be using this process again and again." - Trish "Xeia's guided drawing workshop is an invitation to see yourself from an alternative perspective. Through the exploration Xeia facilitated, I was able to shine light on the connection between my body and my emotional reality. At times, the process felt like an opening - giving me permission to access profound truths about myself. It was both grounding and exciting, and I left with a deeper awareness that I know will continue to shape both my personal life and my artistic practice." - Jack “Before starting, I was hesitant; I didn’t think it would “work” for me especially because I don’t draw much. Then, the experience began, and I felt tension in my throat, as I often hold back tears. So, I let them flow onto the paper. I found a certain sensuality in the touch of the paper, as if I were caressing soft skin. I loved the surprise of discovering my drawings after keeping my eyes closed. By the end, both my body and mind were relaxed, free from the weight of the day. I have no idea how long it lasted; I completely lost track of time.” - Agathe **Note:** Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time so we can start promptly. Doors 10 minutes after the start time :) Please type in CONCESSION if you are facing financial hardship for a discounted $25 ticket. Please email me at greenhouse.arttherapy@gmail.com if that is still difficult- no one will be turned away.

Azure CBUS February: Build Your Own MCP Server
Azure CBUS February: Build Your Own MCP Server
### Tools in your AI's Toolbox : An introduction to MCP Servers The generative AI revolution has unlocked unprecedented capabilities, but the next frontier is agency: empowering models to interact with, query, and act upon the world. The current challenge is the “N x M integration problem,” where every AI model requires a custom, brittle integration for each external tool or data source. This approach simply doesn’t scale. How can we give an AI access to our sales leads, code repositories, or IoT devices in a standardized, secure, and reusable way? This session introduces Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open-source framework designed to solve this challenge and become the universal connector—the USB-C port—for AI. MCP standardizes how AI models discover and use external tools, moving beyond simple function-calling to a robust, client-server architecture. We will dive into how this open protocol is creating a new ecosystem for building powerful, context-aware AI agents. Join this session for a developer-focused introduction where you will learn how to: Understand the core concepts of the open-source Model Context Protocol and its architecture. Utilize pre-built, open-source MCP servers to instantly connect AI to tools like Git, Slack, and databases. Build a custom MCP server to securely expose your own proprietary data and APIs as tools for any compliant AI. Move beyond bespoke integrations and contribute to a standardized, collaborative, and open ecosystem. Stop building one-off connectors and start building intelligent agents. This session will give you the practical knowledge to leverage MCP and create the next generation of AI that doesn’t just talk, but does. Want to be a speaker? submit your talk to our Call for Presenters!!! [https://sessionize.com/azure-cbus-2026/](https://sessionize.com/azure-cbus-2026/)

**⚔️ Introduction to Wargaming & Painting Miniature Soldiers at The Arcane Foundry ⚔️** Join me in **The War Room at [The Arcane Foundry](https://share.google/S5i6DYJnJteHWeKtd)** for a laid-back evening of hobby talk and tabletop fun! For just **$15**, you’ll get a **3D-printed regiment of 20 high quality resin models** of your choice to paint — a **$40 value!** Bring your creativity, relax, and let’s make something awesome together. **Choose one from Below:** * 20 Orc Warriors * 20 Empire Soldiers * 20 Dwarf Warriors * 20 Elf Spearmen Step into a world where strategy meets artistry — and where every painted figure tells a story of battle, honor, and imagination. Join **Daclaud** at **The Arcane Foundry** for an evening that introduces newcomers and enthusiasts alike to the timeless craft of **tabletop wargaming** and **miniature painting**. My own journey began with a fascination for fantasy — knights in armor, grim and hardened warriors, and monstrous creatures locked in epic battle. That passion led me to **Dungeons & Dragons**, where I painted my first **Basic Heroes set** and felt the spark that comes from bringing a character to life in miniature form. Not long after, I discovered **Warhammer Fantasy** and **Warhammer 40,000**, and I was hooked. The vision of vast armies clashing across the table — each unit meticulously painted, each story unfolding through dice and imagination — became my creative obsession. During this event, we’ll explore the **origins of wargaming**, from its early military simulations to the richly detailed worlds of modern tabletop battle systems. You’ll learn how to **build and customize your own armies**, paint your first figures, and experience the joy of turning strategy and storytelling into a hands-on art form. Whether you’re drawn by the lore, the hobby, or the thrill of commanding miniature legions, this introduction will open the gates to a world that has captivated hobbyists for generations. **🎨 RSVP today and join us at The Arcane Foundry — where every brushstroke and battle tells a story.**
CBusData - Ok I Want to Get Data into Fabric - Now What?
CBusData - Ok I Want to Get Data into Fabric - Now What?
I love my job and one of the main things I do is help customers get going with any of the data technologies at Microsoft. Right now there are a lot of my customers asking about Microsoft Fabric. It's hard to weave across all the shiny new options across the Fabric landscape, let alone figure out where it fits into your organization. In this session we'll focus on answering one question - how can I get data into Fabric? We'll talk through the "it depends" options and see some of the options in live demos.
