**\*\*\*Although our group is a non-profit organization, we collect $ 5per member for every event. These proceeds are used to run this website, for social events and room booking fees for future sessions. Thank you for your kind understanding.**
RSVP open: 5:00 PM (Saturday after previous event)
RSVP cancel deadline: Saturday, 12:30 PM (day of the event)
RSVP close: Saturday, 1:30 PM (day of the event)
* 5:15 PM - 5:30 PM - Check-in and Group placement
5:30 PM - 6:15 PM - Japanese half [or English]
6:15 PM - 7:00 PM - English half [or Japanese]
Event Description
* This is an in-person language exchange! Members are placed into groups of three or four based on their language level. Each 45 minute session consists of friendly casual conversation, and/or informal study.
Event Location: Atrium Food Court
* The food court is directly connected to the Dundas subway station, although it is a bit difficult to find. Especially for those who will join our event for the first time, we recommend the following directions,
1. Leave the subway station and walk west for about three minutes along Dundas Street.
2. At the intersection of Bay Street and Dundas Street, you will find an entrance. Proceed down the escalator.
3. The food court is on the basement floor. Please talk to the organizer with the signboard showing TJEX. (If you canât find them, please send a message to the organizer.)
â ïžRSVP & Late Policy
* Failure to show, arriving after 5:45 PM (15 minutes late), and cancelling after 1:00 PM on the day of the event all constitute a "no-show". Members are removed from the group after their third no-show.
* If you are running late, please ensure you send a message to the organizer so we can keep a spot open for you. We will rearrange the groups for members who show up on time. If you show up late without letting us know, we will no longer allow you to join so please be mindful of the time.
Waiting List:
Members can join the waiting list if an event is full. In case a spot becomes available, it will be automatically assigned to a member on the waitlist on a first-come first-serve basis.
PLEASE BE ADVISED:
Members from the âWaitingâ list are moved automatically to the âGoingâ list by the system when a spot opens up. You may or may not get a notification from Meetup when this happens. So only sign up on the âWaiting listâ for an event if you are sure you can come for it. If the system automatically puts you on the âGoingâ list and you don't show up to the event, you will receive a strike.

Snowshoeing - Bob Hunter Memorial Park
The snow is falling, and it's time to get our snowshoes out. We will start with a beginners event to become familiar with our snowshoes again. This is perfect for the first-timer as well. The terrain is relatively flat, and we will snowshoe approximately 6-7kms. We may have to adjust depending on the groups capabilities. Don't forget your sunglasses. They're calling for a beautiful, sunny morning.ð
We will explore some of the trails in Bob Hunter Memorial Park. The park is part of the Rouge National Urban Park system. The headwaters of Little Rouge Creek meanders its way through the forested valley. The paths will be both paved and dirt, so please bring the appropriate footwear. Don't forget your water.
Come out and enjoy a beautiful morning of snowshoeing.
We'll meet in the parking lot.
The hike is free.
Parking is free
The hike will be postponed if the weather does not cooperate.

Wim Hof Method
It's better when we're together. Come and experience the power of the WHM with a wonderful group of people. We breathe, we go into the cold and we teach our bodies to heat up properly. We develop resilience and the mindset to use these powerful healing tools over and over again, all year round. This gathering is fully guided by Wim Hof instructor Steve Beattie.
If you are new to this, come on down, enjoy the support and practice in a safe way with us. If you already have a WHM practice this meetup is a great way to take it to the next level, and make lots of new friends.
There will be a fire, snacks and drinks shared by other attendees. We have been doing this 6 for years!
**What to bring?**
* Yoga mat
* Weather-appropriate clothing (better to dress too warm!)

COUNT RMH Housewarmer Volunteering (Ronald McDonald House)
Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 â 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process.
Fast track
⢠Arrange a time to shadow a COUNT volunteer. Call Dave Nohle at 614-268-9558 (cell).
⢠Show up and try it out.
⢠Complete application, etc. later.
Normal process
⢠Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/).
⢠Attend orientation in advance.
⢠At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility.
⢠Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM.
⢠Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895).
The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014.
Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.
